AFTER HOURS EMERGENCY CARE FOR PATIENTS WITH A LOCAL PRIMARY VET:

During the weekdays, Riverview Animal Hospital Urgent Care receives urgent care/emergency cases from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.  On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the five full-service veterinary clinics in Durango rotate evening call from 6:00 PM to 8:00 AM.  The clinics that participate in this rotation are Alpine Animal Hospital, Aspen Tree Animal Caring Center, Baker's Bridge, Durango Animal Hospital, and Riverview Animal Hospital. This on-call service is provided for clients of these five veterinary clinics and is not an emergency service for the Four Corners area.

Ponderosa Pet is not a full-service veterinary care provider. We specialize only in services that can be performed at-home. We therefore want to remind pet owners of the importance of having a relationship with a veterinary hospital that can provide emergency care if needed.

We do our best to address urgent medical needs via same day appointments and telemedicine 9a-5p Mon-Fri. Outside of our normal business hours, we check messages periodically on the weekends, and can provide follow-up telemedicine consults and appointments if possible for current clients. For hospice or euthanasia appointments, you do not need to be a current client for weekend services, and we try to be available for these special situations.
