NICHOLE RAMEY, DVM:
Dr. Nichole Ramey graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and enjoys working with many types of animals. She focuses on preventative medicine at all life stages in her mobile practice, and has special interests in the areas of senior care for dogs & cats, nutrition, feline specialty services, and exotic pet care. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the Animal Hospice & Palliative Care Association. A few of her highlight experiences during her career have included working at Valley of the Kings lion & tiger sanctuary, assisting with conservation efforts at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, and conducting shark research with the Oklahoma Aquarium.
Dr. Ramey moved to Durango in 1999, and earned her undergraduate psychology degree at Fort Lewis College. She decided to start up a mobile practice in the winter of 2019. The creation of Ponderosa Pet Mobile Vet was a natural evolution from a long-standing passion of caring for animals in people's homes which first developed during her pet sitting adventures in veterinary school. She has passionately devoted her life to the care of animals, & when she's not taking care of her own pets or patients, she enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and creative endeavors.

Heather Corbin, DVM:
School: University of California, Davis
Special Interests: Internal Medicine, Advanced Ultrasonography and Animal Behavior
Having spent time in various areas of the United States, I am happy to finally call Colorado my home! I grew up in Santa Monica, California and traveled to UC Davis for my undergraduate education. I competed on the rowing team and I graduated with a degree in Sociology. Following my undergraduate degree, I trained horses in southern California. Knowing that I always wanted to be a veterinarian, I returned to the University of California, Davis for veterinary school. After graduating from veterinary school, I completed an internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. I worked in northern California at a large emergency and general care practice. I finally moved to Durango, pursuing my dream of living among the mountains!
Through the collective experiences in my veterinary career, I have developed a strong interest in internal medicine, animal behavior, as well as the application of advanced ultrasonography. I am thankful to be working in the mobile setting where I can truly deliver a Fear Free experience for my patients and provide a holistic approach to my patients care. In addition to working for Ponderosa Pet, I also offer Behavior Consulting through my business, Best Behavior Vet.
I am extremely devoted to client education and my priority is to ensure that every owner is thoroughly informed about their pet’s health and treatment options. I truly enjoy getting to know my clients and their talented companion animals. I hope that we can work together to reach our goals for a happy healthy life.
